Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Dr Adio Adeyemi Adebowale, the Chief Medical Director of Kaiama General Hospital in Kwara, has been arrested for allegedly killing and burying two ladies in his office.

SP Okasanmi Ajayi of the Kwara State Police Command said in a statement on Sunday, October 2, 2022, that the suspect admitted killing his girlfriend, Ifeoluwa, who was reported missing in the Tanke area of Ilorin in 2021.

Dr. Adio was arrested weeks ago in Benin City, Edo State, for allegedly killing cab driver Emmanuel Yobo Agbovinuere and stealing his vehicle.

The latest gruesome discovery was made after the newly appointed State Commissioner of Police, CP Paul Odama, ordered a high-powered investigation into the disappearance of Nofisat Halide.

According to the statement, “the investigation into the case began on September 30, 2022, based on the CP’s order.” Working on a tip provided by the arrest and confession of one Dr Adio Adeyemi Adebowale in Edo State, who confirmed he killed one Ifeoluwa, his girlfriend, who went missing in the Tanke area of Ilorin sometime in 2021 and her body was later discovered in a bush in the Alapa area of Ilorin where he dumped it.”

“The said doctor happened to be the Chief Medical Director of Kaiama General Hospital.” The team was led to Kaiama General Hospital, where the suspect’s office was forced open. A quick glance around the office revealed a suspicious sight of freshly cemented floor tiles; curiously, the tiles were broken, and the detectives were greeted with a gory sight. The decomposing body of an unidentified female lay inside the shallow grave.”

“Further searches of the office led to the opening of a trash can, where another body of a lady later identified as the earlier reported missing Nofisat Halidu identified by the husband, one Mr Halidu, and other community members who were present at the time of the search”

The police command in Kwara state has stated that it is working with its counterpart in Edo state on the matter.

It also stated that the investigation into his repatriation to the state is in full swing.

Ajayi Okasanmi, the command’s spokesperson, told our correspondent that Dr. Adio Adebowale is currently being held in Edo state for another culpable homicide case.
