Adeleye Kunle reports,

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in charge of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Kwara State, Mallam Garba Attahiru Madami, has offered clarifications on the 23 staff of the commission allegedly caught in illegal voter registration.

He said though the figure mentioned is correct, it represents the total number of staff in the country caught in the alleged malpractice.

He made the clarification to correct what he termed a misunderstanding while delivering a speech last Wednesday when he held a stakeholder meeting on the forthcoming election.

In a statement by the state’s INEC Public Affairs and Protocol Officer, Abdulkadir Bolaji Ibrahim, the REC explained that none of Kwara INEC staff was among the culprits
