The Lagos State Government has set commencement dates for seven new laws signed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to strengthen public safety, governance, and institutional reforms.

Five laws took effect on February 19, 2025, including those on fire services, law enforcement training, organ transplant regulation, consumer protection, and witness support.

Two others — the Local Government Administration Law and Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy Law — will take effect on August 4, 2025.

The state says the staggered rollout ensures adequate sensitisation and enforcement readiness.
