Folake Abiola, who works as an accountant with telecom giant Globacom, has been reported dead after she was alleged to have committed suicide at her home, at Osapa London, in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
It was observed and reported that she drank a very dangerous substance that is suspected to be insecticide. This poisonous substance, which she took, reportedly led to her death.
It was reported that the police who visited her residence found her dead.
The family members who were present formally wrote to the divisional police officer requesting the corpse’s release so that they could bury her according to Islamic rites, and the corpse was released to the family on compassionate grounds.
The reasons that made her commit suicide have not yet been discovered, though many will opine that she took her life because of her acts of depression.
Suicide has never been an option and it will never be. It is painful that another great woman in the telecom industry has lost her life by committing suicide.
