The Legal Defence Assistance Project, LEDAP, on Monday, September 18, 2023, commenced training of staff of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC’s Academy on E-content Development.

The training, code-named: “Train the Trainers on the E- Content Development”, is a week-long programme sponsored by the MacArthur Foundation.

In his opening remarks, Acting Commandant, EFCC Academy, Assistant Commander of EFCC, ACE1 Babashani Umar, said the training would strengthen the criminal justice system, with emphasis on the Administration Of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA, 2015, through the E-learning platform.

“…. Training now has gone beyond just being in the classroom, everybody is going electronic, so we must toe the path to ensure that we also improve and embrace best international practices “, he said.

Also speaking at the event, Head, External Cooperation, ACE II Aliyu Wali appreciated LEDAP for its unwavering support in driving the progress of the EFCC in the E-learning Management System.

“This one-week training programme… will emphasise the importance of content development in shaping the future of the EFCC Academy e-learning capacity and I believe that it is a pivotal step towards achieving our project’s goals and objectives”, he said.

Earlier, at a Courtesy Visit to the Academy on July 27, 2023, the Project Officer, LEDAP, Rihanat Moshood, speaking on behalf of the Executive Director, Mr Chino Edmund Obiagu, said “the project is about the training of EFCC Staff, particularly the investigators and prosecutors on the innovations in the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015… We are to provide any technical support that is not already available to the Commission”.
