Maiden Edition of ADC Annual sports Tournament Holds in Yenagoa

***As different units within the Bayelsa Governor’s escort win prices
The maiden edition of the ADC annual tournament, comprising of different units within the Bayelsa governor’s escort held today at the premises of the Yenagoa Castle hotel .
The tournament is aimed at fostering stronger bond and better working relationship among officers attached to the governor’s escort.
Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Mobile Police (Mopol), Special Protection Unit (SPU) and Conventional Police competed in different sporting activities such as Football, Tug of war, fastest puzzle solve of the Nigeria Police Force Logo and musketry.
The tournament had the Conventional Police unit emerging overall winners by scoring a total of 15 points in all competitions, while the Mobile Police (Mopol) unit emerged runners up with a total of 14 points.
The Special Protection Unit (SPU) took the third position with 12 points and the Counter Terrorism Unit coming fourth with a total of 11 points.
In his remarks, sponsor of the tournament and Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to Governor Douye Diri, Superintendent of Police (SP) Michael Zuokumor thanked the officers for their outstanding performances and urged them to always see each other as a team that must succeed together, stating that the tournament will now be held yearly.
Also speaking, Commander of the Counter Terrorism Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, Bayelsa State Command, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Collins Adebayo thanked the ADC for putting up the competition, pledging the support of the state command in subsequent editions.
Highpoint of the tournament was the presentation of trophy and cash prizes to the winning team and other participating teams.
Senior Police officers present at the tournament include, the Commander 30MPF, represented by CSP Audu Aminu, Principal Security Officer (PSO) Government House, CSP Benard Ukwunta and other top officers.
