The Governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has assured labour leaders that his administration would implement the N30,000 minimum wage by the end of November, 2022.

The Governor disclosed this when the state leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) paid him a courtesy visit at Government House Gusau, the state capital.

Governor Matawalle said that his administration has the feelings of the entire workers in the state as a former civil servant, hence the decision of his government to provide all the necessary entitlements to the workers.

“My administration will start implementing the N30,000 national minimum wage to the entire civil servants in the state by November, 2022,” he said.

Matawalle said that the uplift of workers and pensioners will continue to be accorded top priority by his administration in order to meet their needs for effective service delivery.

The Governor called on the organised labour in the state to help the government by blocking all leakages and fraudulent acts among the civil servants for it to provide all the needed support and welfare of the workers.

On the payment of gratuity to retired civil servants, Governor Matawalle said the state government will effect the full payments as soon as deductions from the state funds were stopped by December, this year
