Christmas was a special time of the year. A season of hope anchored on Gods enduring gift of love. Christmas is the day that holds all the time together. It was a very tough year; economy threatened, hope lost and the real essence of humanity embarrassed.
But let’s take a walk on the streets of the good tidings that came our way in Bayelsa State, the transport sector and the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Bayelsa State Council. I often say that, effective performances are preceded by painstaking preparation and opportunity is a haughty goddess who wastes no time with those who are unprepared.
This describes the trio:
His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri. The Miracle Governor, as often called has in a small ample time transformed Bayelsa State by identifying the key areas of development, most especially the transport sector, which has been one sector that increases growth and development rapidly. His vision is glaring to the world to see. The quote “when preparation meets opportunity, success is inevitable, little wonder why the miracle Governor and his giant strides are in the lips of everyone.
Amidst all these achievements also stand strong the unity and growth in other sectors of the state. Yes Bayelsa/Bayelsans expected success from somewhere and somehow and H/E was prepared for it. Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their Champion character. Your excellency sir, you are a champion.
If you believe lack of authority prevents you from leading effectively, it is time to rethink your understanding of leadership for there are two ways of spreading light, to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it because Honourable Commissioner of Transport; Mrs. Grace ikotienne upon emergence has displayed humility in followership, discipline and courage, passion, exemplary and clarity in vision.
First on was to get all tricycles to pick and stop commuters at a designated point to ease movement of vehicles within the state, to mention but a few. She was also instrumental in the tombia/etegwe roundabout. The way to get started, is to quit talking and begin doing. he/she who cannot be a good follower cannot be a good leader.
It’s a popular saying that good leaders must first become good servants. A true leader serves, serves people and are willing to pay the price of service. After years of service in preparation emerged the State Chairman Road Transport Employers Asssociation of Nigeria (RTEAN) Bayelsa State Council. Now known as Chief (Dr) Oyinkuro Ifie Ereboh is one name on the pages of Bayelsa State. This is a proof that you can lead from any position and place you find yourself.
He has stretched his intellect from border to border beyond his confine and his leadership style cannot be denied. Maurice Greenberg once said “if you can’t leave through adversity, you will never be good at what you do, you will have to live through the unfair things and you have to develop the hide to not let it bother you and keep your eyes focused on what you have to do. The cordial relationship between your executives and the general public is exceptional and the RTEAN Bayelsa State has taken a new turn.
30th of August, 2021 brought in a leader of full confidence, character, charisma, responsible, integrity and self discipline. The face of RTEAN as he is been called. RTEAN BAYELSA STATE COUNCIL salutes a true Commander
The women wing inaugurated, Chapels and Units leadership sworn in, sensitizations for drivers and commuters, Partnerships with security outfits to ensure safety etc. you have done well.
Congratulations to the TRIO
In conclusion, As we continue the rebuilding of Bayelsa State, Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria(RTEAN) Bayelsa State Council, we should remain vigilant against the enemies of development and growth even if they come from within our own ranks. Violence, cultism and other forms of mishaps will not bring us to our objectives but rather lets ask ourselves the question: Have I done everything in power to bring about lasting peace, prosperity, growth in my city, office and Bayelsa State?
The future is here 2022 before our eyes.
Rememeber; precision comes from vision and destiny comes from dreams. You can plan change, think about your life, think about Bayelsa, think about RTEAN Bayelsa State Council, what progress and advancement will you make. Choose good virtues, you are not a mistake, RTEAN is not a mistake and Bayelsa State is not a mistake. Take a journey back from the inside, connect the dream back and stop making a living.
