Mudslide kills man in Jigawa

A 28-year-old man, Umar Sale has been killed by a landslide in the Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

NSCDC spokesman CSC Adamu Shehu confirmed the incident to Track News.

He said the incident happened on Tuesday in Majia town, Taura LGA, at about 1400hrs.

Shehu said the deceased who is a father of three was digging sand from a ditch to fix his mud house destroyed by the heavy downpour when the sand above him slid and buried him alive.

According to him, farmers around the area heard the victim’s cry for help and rushed to his rescue and his body was recovered and confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

His corpse was released to his family for burial
