The murder of a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Honourable Rilwanu Aminu Gadagau, has been condemned by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani.
The lawmaker representing the Giwa West Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Local Government was among the travellers killed by bandits along Kaduna-Zaria highway on Monday night.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, the Speaker described the lawmaker’s death as devastating and tragic.
He prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the state, Assembly and his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Ibrahim Zailani prayed that Almighty Allah grants the deceased Aljannah Firdaus.
The statement reads: ”Honourable Gadagau died during bandits attack along Zaria highway. This is tragic and painful. We are in deep grief over this sad incident.
“Our prayers at this time go to his immediate family. Honourable Gadagau was a young and dynamic lawmaker, who had a passion for his constituency, state and Nigeria. We will miss his vibrant contributions.”
Zailani also commiserated with families of others who were killed by the bandits during Monday’s attack.
“Our hearts also go out to those kidnapped in the same operation, believing that they would be rescued by security operatives as soon as possible,” he added.
