One of the twin brothers of the Psqaure fame, Peter Okoye has taken to his Social Media handles to calls out both Access Bank and Polaris Bank for what he alleged to be fraud against his person where the two banks allowed fraudulent individuals to open and operate accounts in his name without following the normal banking norm of insisting on full identity of those operating the accounts.

He express outrage and concern over what he believes to be an alarming breach of security within the Nigerian banking system and in a passionate post, the artist accused Access Bank and Polaris Bank of allowing individuals to open accounts in his name without proper identification, biometrics, BVN (Bank Verification Number), or verified addresses, leading to fraudulent activities under his identity in the said banks.

On his post, Peter Okoye declared, “It’s either an inside job or otherwise! I have a name to protect here and save some of these innocent victims! So get ready for me and my legal team! How can Polaris Bank allow someone to open an account in the name of Peter Okoye Psquare and Access Bank you also allowed someone to open an account named Peter Okoye Psquare without valid means of identification, no biometrics, no BVN, no verified address of the account owner.

Now they are using my name to scam innocent people. I am suing these banks for damages and calling them out one after the other. EFCC take note. Enough is Enough.”

The post quickly gained attention, with many fans and followers expressing their support for the artist and their concern over the alleged security lapses within the banking sector. Okoye’s accusation raises serious questions about the efficacy of identity verification protocols and security measures employed by Nigerian banks.

Access Bank and Polaris Bank, two of Nigeria’s prominent financial institutions, are now under the spotlight as they face potential legal action from the celebrity. The gravity of these allegations has prompted demands for accountability and transparency within the banking industry.

This incident also caught the attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as Okoye explicitly called on them to take note of the situation. The EFCC is tasked with investigating and combating financial crimes in Nigeria, and their involvement could further shed light on the matter.

As the situation unfolds, the public eagerly awaits responses from both Access Bank and Polaris Bank regarding the allegations made by Peter Okoye Psquare. The banks will likely face rigorous scrutiny as they attempt to address these serious claims and restore public trust in their services.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of robust security measures within the banking sector and the need for swift action in addressing any breaches or irregularities. The outcome of this case could have far-reaching implications for banking regulations and customer protection in Nigeria.
