The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has asked the Central Bank of Nigeria to allow the old naira notes to co-exist as legal tenders for the next 12 months.

The APC flag bearer also asked the apex bank to halt all charges associated with online transactions and bank transfers till the current crisis is resolved.

The spokesperson of the Tinubu-Shetima campaign, Festus Keyamo, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

He stated that the CBN must act fast to save Nigerians from the hardship caused by the cash crunch.

Tinubu added that the CBN should make cash available to Nigerians to ease the pain.

“Following the advice of the National Council of States, the CBN should announce that the old and new Naira notes will co-exist as legal tender for the next Twelve months to follow examples of countries that have successfully implemented similar monetary policy,” he said
