A senior lecturer at the Department of Economics, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Professor Kayode Bamidele, on Friday, said the redesigning of the naira would expose corrupt politicians, and those who stocked ill-gotten money in their bedroom.

Professor Kayode, while responding to questions by journalists in Kaduna noted: “Since the pronouncement by the Central Bank to redesign the Nigerian currency, those who stole money and stocked the notes in their bedrooms have no peace of mind. They cannot take the notes to the bank nor to bureau d’ change to convert to dollars and other foreign currencies. So, they have sleepless nights.”

He commended the EFCC for the recent arrest of a three-man gang that stole huge sums of money in Kogi State. According to him, the arrest would equally signal to other criminals who want to enrich themselves at the detriment of the masses
