The Zamfara State chapter of the National Population Commission (NPC) has said it would take data from 3,230 localities across the state during the conduct of the 2023 population and housing census exercise.

This was disclosed by the Federal Commissioner in charge of the State, Muhammad Muttaka Rini while presenting the final list at a state-level workshop on a compendium of localities held in Gusau, the State capital.

Recall that Mutakha Rini had earlier assured that the 2023 general census would be successful, saying that only security challenges would affect the population census in the state.

But he refused to state how far the commission has gone towards providing security for the exercise, saying that the security of lives and properties lies in the hands of the security agencies and not in the hands of the commission
