As the 2022 elections of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) knocks, Solicitor Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN, a Presidential Candidate, has vowed to enable the advancement of robust environmental order and standards for Nige Delta and Nigeria if elected.

According to Gadzama who is the Chairman, Advisory Board, Association of Environmental Lawyers of Nigeria (AELN), his position is not for joke but an expression of his care for the environment and his decision to curb environmental issues through the proper enforcement of the law.

He said: ” “I want to restate here that my being the Head of the Advisory Board of the Association of Environmental Lawyers of Nigeria (ALEN ) is not for showmanship or fluke but my love for the environment and my resolve to tackle along, through the instrumentality of the law, with AELN members and the Bar some of these major environmental challenges facing the Niger Delta people in particular and Nigeria generally. This must be addressed under my watch as NBA President because members of the Bar are not exempted but equally affected and vulnerable to some of these environmental problems majorly caused by anthropogenic activities.”

Adding to his promise, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria commented: “If elected, we shall team up with relevant stakeholders and embark on consultations to address these common environmental issues employing the instrumentality of law and machinery of justice in Nigeria.”

Gadzama Esq told TrackNews that: “these and other issues and objectives are achievable with the support of all and sundry. I therefore count on all of you in order to realise this lofty and noble objectives.”
