NBA Sagbama Branch Visit The Solicitor General / PS

TRACKING___The executive committee of Nigeria Bar Association Sagbama branch led by the chairman Barrister Ebinyu George Aderigha Esq paid a courtesy visit on the Solicitor General/Permanent Secretary yesterday.

The Chairman who was accompanied by Ebiere Ekpese Esq Secretary, Ndeze Anthony Esq. Legal Adviser and Abalande Esq Treasurer.

In a statement made available to news men, the chairman spoke about the expectations from the private and public Bar, working together for the betterment of Lawyers ie Welfare, trainings. The Chairman also use the medium to solicit for his support, advice, fatherly role and wealth of experience.

He further used the opportunity to state three main things that the Bar needs, which are: the Bar Centre, a Bus (for both Branches) and payments of Judgement debts.

In response, the SG/PS congratulated and encouraged the executive not to relent and that which they have set their hearts to do, considering this a privilege to serve. Amongst other things he assured the executive that the prototype of the Bar Centre is ready as the past administration had put everything in place but for the release of money before this new government.

He assured the new executive that the opportunity would be made for the them to see the governor and deputy to convey directly with them on the Bus and that of Judgement debts which is kept at the front burner of the government, as to do otherwise would give the impression that the government has no respect for judgement of Courts.

He also pledged to attend their meeting upon invitation unless he is otherwise engaged and gave his assurance of a open door for any discussion.

He acknowledged that Lawyers are crucial for the successful administration of every government, and this government is ready to work with the Bar as a product of the judiciary.

He also urged the Bar to continue to be the watch dog of the Society, as to speak up when the occasion arise.
