13 percent derivation refund: I have no regret thanking President Buhari – Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State says he has no apologies for thanking President Muhammadu Buhari over the release of oil derivation fund to the Niger Delta States.
Wike spoke at the conferment of awards on 162 Nigerians for their achievements, influential lives and services to the advancement of Rivers State and the nation.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Kelvin Ebiri, Governor Wike’s Personal Assistant on Media.
The statement was made available to journalists on Sunday.
“Because I said ‘Buhari, thank you,’ I am having problems today. That is the country we are in. I am not a fan of Buhari.
“When a man has done well, say he has done well in this area. If he has not done well, you say so. I have no apologies for anyone. If Buhari had not released the money from 1999, which my party did not even release, I wouldn’t have been doing what I am doing,” Wike said.
Wike also advised governors of Kogi and Ebonyi States not to waste their resources supporting any other gubernatorial candidate in the State because his party- the PDP will win all elective positions in the forthcoming general elections.
