2024/2025 Legal Year: Gov. Diri attends thanksgiving service
***Thanks Clergy, judicial officers for supporting Govt.
Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri today, joined the Chief Judge of the state, Hon. Justice Matilda Abrakasa Ayemieye and the Bayelsa State judiciary in a thanksgiving service to signal the commencement of the 2024/2025 Legal Year.
The thanksgiving service was held at the Saint Peter’s Deanery in Yenagoa.
While appreciating the tireless efforts of judicial officers in the state in upholding justice, Governor Diri said the prosperity government would always work in synergy with other arms of government to ensure peace and progress in the state.
The governor also thanked the clergy for their support and prayers for peace in the state.
“First, I’m happy to be part of this legal year, and beginning it with the Lord, here at the St. Peter’s Deanery.
Let me appreciate the clergy for the support they have given to all the arms of government, particularly, the judiciary. Thank you for all your prayers for peace in this state.
As a government, we will continue to work in synergy with the different arms to ensure there is peace, and our state gives justice,” Governor Diri stated.
The governor was joined at the thanksgiving service by Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Rt. Hon. Fred Agbedi , member representing Sagbama-Ekeremor Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Oboku Oforji, member representing Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma Federal Constituency, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, Secretary to the state government, Barr. (Mrs.) Biobelemoye Charles-Onyema, Head of service, Bayelsa State, Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo, Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Hon. Bulodisiye Ndiwari, Executive Chairman, Yenagoa Local Government Area, members of the state executive council and other top government officials.
