Mercy Orija is accused of raping and killing Janet Fakeye, a 12-year-old girl, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The victim, a Junior Secondary School student at Army Day Secondary School in Alamala, Abeokuta, was allegedly dragged into a house by the suspect while he was on an errand.

Orija was said to have tied the teenager’s hands, legs, and mouth before forcing himself on her.

Sanjo Fakeye, the victim’s father, confirmed the incident and is seeking justice from the authorities.

“I gave Janet money so she could buy detergent for her school uniform. When she didn’t return after a while, I went to her friend’s house to ask about my daughter, and she said she hadn’t seen her.

“I later went to the police station around 8 p.m. to report that my daughter was missing.” As we were driving to the police station, I received a call from the community informing me that they had discovered my daughter’s body.

“Mercy raped my daughter to death after tying her hands, legs, and covering her mouth.”
