The Aare Ogboni Alale of Ekiti State, Oladele Fadare has charged the Governor of Ekiti, Mr Biodun Oyebanji to fulfil his electioneering promises by extending political appointments to the traditional religious worshipers.

Chief Fadare gave the charge during an interview with journalists from the Ministry of Information and Values Orientation in Odo Oro, Ikole Local Government Area.

He stressed that what could be one of the major achievements of Mr Biodun Oyebanji’s government would be to appoint a traditionalist to his cabinet so as to ensure fairness and equity among the three major religions in Nigeria.

The traditionalist commended Oyebanji’s administration on its efforts at curtailing the security challenges, construction of some roads and continuous work of various legacy projects across the state within his few days in office.

He said the group abhors human rituals and dispels the misinformation that the cult supports such.

The Aare Ogboni advised the government to make the welfare of the workforce and other non-government workers his topmost
priority.

Chief Oladele, therefore, charged the Biodun Oyebanji-led government to provide an enabling environment for people living with disability to have a sense of belonging and to thrive in their different endeavours.

He called on the state government not to relent in its fight against any form of gender-based violence in the state and also to look into capturing the welfare of the traditionalists in the 2023 budget.

He asked the Ekiti State government to come to the aid of the Ogbonis in the state to complete their Iledi that is nearing completion, reiterating the cordial relationship which exists between Ogboni confraternity and other religious sects in Ekiti State.

He urged Oyebanji’s administration to also declare Iseese day in Ekiti as is being practised in some states in the South West adding that it will be an honour if a traditional place of worship is established within the government house as there are chapels and mosques, to engender religious balance
