Arewa, Ohanaeze, Afenifere, Jonathan is planning a coup in Iwuanyanwu

Owerri—In advance of the 2023 general elections, organizations like Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Afenifere, the Arewa Consultative Forum, and former president Goodluck Jonathan will invade Imo State on Saturday to discuss the “Igbo desire for Nigeria’s unity.”

The event is being held to commemorate Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s 80th birthday, according to a statement published yesterday in Owerri by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, and signed by the chairman of the planning committee, Emma Mgbahurike.

They say: “The Correspondents’ Chapel of the NUJ, Imo State chapter, under the leadership of Chris Njoku, invites all patrons, stakeholders, captains of industries, party chieftains, friends and well-wishers of the chapel and our noble profession from all parts of Nigeria and beyond to the lecture series, organized by the chapel as part of activities marking the 80th birthday anniversary of a renowned thinker, Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (Ahaeji

According to the release, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, a former president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and his wife Patience, who is Mother of the Day, would preside over the ceremony.

The lecture, “Igbo Quest for Nigeria’s Unity,” will be given by John Nnia Nwodo, a former minister of aviation, information, and special adviser to the late former president Shehu Shagari. He is also the coordinator of the Southern/Middle Belt Forum.
