Bank staff slumps and dies in Lagos
A staff of a new generation bank in Lagos state, Emmanuel Ebere, slumped and died inside the bank premises at the Awolowo, Ikoyi branch in Lagos on Wednesday, December 14.
According to eyewitnesses, Ebere who was attached to the Information and Communication Technology unit of the bank slumped while on duty, He was immediately rushed to the Military hospital, Ikoyi, where doctors confirmed him dead.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundenyi, said;
“Based on the report, a team of detectives from the Ikoyi Division visited the hospital and examined the corpse. No mark of violence was seen on the body. Corpse has been evacuated and deposited at the Marina General Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
In a related development, two men working on an elevator in a building on Alexander road, Ikoyi, have been electrocuted. Confirming the incident, SP Hundeyin said the two workers identified as Samson Gbemileke, 32, and Henry Dozie, 37, were rushed to Ever Care hospital in Lekki where Henry Dozie was confirmed dead, while the second victim survived.
He added that the corpse has been deposited in the Island General hospital morgue, Marina for autopsy, adding that investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
