Cashless Policy: What Nigerians would remember Emefiele for – Onanuga
Bayo Onanuga, the Director of Media and Publicity for the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign council has disclosed that the Governor of Central Bank CBN, Godwin Emefiele, would be remembered for his role in inflicting hardship and pain on Nigerians.
Onanuga was reacting through his official Twitter handle on Monday night as the CBN finally bowed to pressure and okayed the acceptance of old N200, N500, and N1000 ten days after the Supreme Court’s ruling.
According to him, Emefiele has ended up as the villain of all the ill-conceived Naira redesign policy.
“Godwin Emefiele of CBN ends as the fall guy of the ill-conceived, illegal currency swap in our nation’s history. He will be remembered as a sadistic, wicked boss of the bank who inflicted unprecedented hardship on our people, causing anger, pain, and deaths”, he posted.
Track news had reported that the CBN on Monday approved old naira notes as legal tender till December 31 in obedience to the Supreme Court March 3 ruling
