Chief Nwakwo John Paul emerges new Chairman of Enugu state.

Enugu state Community in Bayelsa state Chapter umbrella body of Enugu residents in Bayelea State has elected Chief Nwakwo John Paul as its Chairman to pilot the affairs of the socio-cultural organization for the next four years.

The election held under the supervision of election observers and security agencies saw Chief Nwakwo John Paul won unopposed after other contenteders stepped down for him.

Declaring the result, Chief Akin Chukwuthe Eleco chairman, said Chief Nwakwo John Paul scored 23 votes out of 24 accredited voters for the chairmans election.

According to Chief Akin Chukwu the Eleco chairman, said Chief Nwakwo John Paul having satisfied the electoral guideline and scored the highest number of votes cast has emerged winner of the election.

Chief Akin Chukwu thanked all the contestants and the voters for their peaceful disposition during and after the election and enjoined the winner to carry everybody along in the scheme of things.

He called on the new leadership of the body to to rally the Enugu residents in state to leave in harmony with Bayelsans and non Bayelsans for peaceful coexistence.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Chief Nwakwo John Paul unfold his developmental agenda which according to him centres on unity, peace and promotion of the culture of the Enugu.

Chief Nwakwo John Paul said that the days of rancour and bitterness are over and called on the members to join hands with him to take the Enugu state Community to greater heights.

Also speaking, the out going President, Chief Ernest Uzoefuna lauded the Enugu state Community for ensuring the election was peaceful and urged the new President to build on the achievements of the predecessor.

Those elected are: Chief Sir Polycarp Udeafor vice chairman, Chief Sir Fidelis Okoafor Secretary, Pst. Igweshi Simon Peter secretary. Nwaodo Chris Fin. Secretary. Okonkwo Hyginus Treasurer, Marcellinus Nwake.

Appreciating Enugu state Community for the peaceful conduct of the election, Mazi Onuma Johnson the president of Ohanaeze NdiIgbo Bayelsa state chapter, who also doubles as Special Adviser on non indigenes affairs to Senator Douye Diri governor of Bayelsa state, urge the chairman-elect to promote peace and unity among the members. He also pointed the need for the new excos of the Community do everything within their reach to reaching out to their people in different local government in Bayelsa state.

Meanwhile, The eleco chairman Chief Akin Chukwu received award of recognition from Enugu State Development union Bayelsa state chapter for his outstanding contribution to ndi Enugu residents in the state. Chief Chukwu thanked the chairman Chief Ernest Uzoefuna for the recognition. The awerd was presented by Onuma Johnson the president of Ohanaeze NdiIgbo Bayelsa state chapter.
