Delta School teacher appeals for help over severe breast cancer
A primary school teacher, Mrs Ebiere Gillow, has appealed to the general public for financial assistance over a severe breast cancer that had put her life in a critical health condition.
Mrs Gillow, a teacher at Bomadi Local Government Primary and Nursery School, Okoloba, Delta State, narrated her sad ordeal to Vanguard, yesterday, in a bid to get public attention to her sorry situation.
She disclosed that the situation started as a sharp pain in one of her breasts, stressing she visited several medical and traditional centres for solutions but it rather degenerated to her present state.
She said: “My name is Ebiere Gillow, I hail from the Okoloba community in Bomadi local government area of Delta State. I’m a teacher at Bomadi Local Government Primary and Nursery School, Okoloba, which is run by the local government council.
“The situation started as a sharp pain in my right breast two years ago. I visited hospitals and traditional healing centres for treatment but there was no improvement.
“The situation worsened day by day and they told me it is breast cancer. I have moved from place to place, from state to state seeking possible healing but there’s no improvement. Now, I have exhausted all I had on this ailment.
“I’m calling on the general public to please come to my aid because I can no longer go for treatment, I am in my home because I don’t have the money to visit hospitals anymore”.
Mr Pius Gillow, younger brother to the patient, and Ms Patience Awayo, who is daughter to the patient, in their joint appeal for assistance from the public, said: “We have taken her to different hospitals and healing centres without solution, and we’ve been exhausted financially.
“We have been treating this cancer for two years now, travelling from one state to another for a solution but the situation has become worse.
“Now, we’re referred to Oghara Teaching Hospital, Delta State, for further treatment but we’re exhausted financially, the family is exhausted financially.
“Therefore, we came out to make this public appeal to enable us to take her to Oghara for further treatment. We are appealing to Nigerians and people all over the world in the name of God to help our sister and mother out of her pain.
“Anyone who wishes to help should please do so through this account number: 4216446133 (Zenith Bank). We can also be contacted through the mobile number: 09150440156. Please, we have no other hope, help us in the name of God”.
