The Ogun State-owned Social Orientation and Safety (So-Safe) Corps has arrested a 29-year-old bricklayer, Shakiru Bello, for allegedly attacking a commercial motorcyclist and carting away his bike.

Bello, who was said to have disguised as a passenger, was arrested on Friday following a complaint by the victim simply identified as Abel.

The suspect had hired Abel to transport him on bike to Agobaba, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun.

According to a statement by the So-Safe Corps spokesperson, Moruf Yusuf, the robbery suspect, who resides at Penpe in Owode Yewa, had confessed to the crime.

During preliminary investigation, the bricklayer had confessed that “he stopped the motorcyclist to take him as a passenger to Agobaba Area, and the motive was to snatch the bike from him.”

According to Yusuf, the suspect explained how he directed the bike man to take him towards a new site, at a house being built by his friend.
