Ekiti govt concerned about residents’ disregard for environmental sanitation – See details
The Ekiti State Government has expressed concern about the poor attitude of Ekiti residents toward the state’s monthly environmental sanitation exercise.
Monisade Afuye, the Deputy Governor, stated this in Ise-Ekiti on Saturday while overseeing the monthly environmental sanitation exercise at Ise-Orun Local Government Area.
Mrs. Afuye was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Habibat Adubiaro, and the Chairman of the Ise-Orun Local Government Council, Ayodele Akinluyi.
In a statement issued by her media aide, Victor Ogunje, Afuye stated that the exercise was implemented to reduce wasteful spending on contagious but avoidable diseases that can spread due to citizens’ poor environmental cleanliness.
During the monitoring exercise, the deputy governor visited Ogbese, Obada, and Afolu, which are farmsteads in Ise-Ekiti, and enforced strict adherence to the sanitation policy among rural dwellers, particularly in Hausa quarters, and operators of local palm oil-producing facilities in the communities.
