Evan’s Co-defendant Chiemeka Arinze Dies In Prison
Chiemeka Arinze, suspected accomplice of alleged kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans, has reportedly died in prison custody.
Speaking with Vanguard, a source who pleaded anonymity said Arinze died last week Friday, November 26, 2021, from an unknown illness.
The source added that the suspect was rushed from Lagos prison to a General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
He stated that the counsel to the late defendant had filed a bail application before the court last week over the illness of his client.
Speaking further, the source said that the bail application for Arinze was slated to be heard today (Monday) before the news of the death of the defendant.
www.tracknews.ng reports that Arinze, Evans and other suspects are standing trial over the attempted kidnap of the Chairman of the Young Shall Grow Motors, Chief Vincent Obianodo.
The accused are facing a seven-count charge of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, attempt to kidnap and sale and transfer of firearms.
