Gov. Diri Warns Against Payroll Fraud
Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has warned that his administration will not condone fraudulent acts that are inimical to the progress of the state, stressing that anyone found culpable in payroll fraud would be treated as an enemy of the state within the ambits of the law.
Governor Diri was speaking at a send-off ceremony organized by the state government in honour of the outgone Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, John Kala-ama in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, he called on labour unions to collaborate with his administration to refocus the state workforce on the paths of efficient service delivery and career development.
Governor Diri commended the leadership of all labour unions and their members over their support for the present administration and urged them to sustain the prevailing industrial harmony in the state.
