Gunmen Abduct two after killing Immigration officer in Plateau
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers abducted a lady and a man after killing an Immigration officer in Furaka community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. Residents told Punch in Jos that the incident happened on Tuesday night, January 2, 2024.
Some armed men came to our community on Tuesday. It was around 8 pm. They invaded the Furaka Community near Tina Junction in the Jos Jarawa Ward in Jos North, a resident, Madaki Gottom, said, “Unfortunately, Mr. Aaron Danji was shot and killed while Antipas Gabriel and a 20-year-old lady were taken to an unknown destination. Since then, we have not seen any of those taken away.
The spokesman for the State Police Command, Alabo Alfred, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday, said it was a case of kidnapping and not a fresh attack by gunmen in the community. “We are aware of the incident. Its not a case of another attack on the community. Its a kidnap incident and we are already investigating it, he said.e Furaka Community in the Jos North local government area of Plateau State was thrown into confusion on Tuesday as kidnappers killed a man and whisked away two people in the neighbourhood.
Meanwhile, another source in the community who spoke with the Nigerian Tribune on condition of anonymity said the entire community was under the siege of the kidnappers for more than thirty minutes. The source said the deceased, Aaron, was trying to scale a fence for a possible escape when he was shot dead by the attackers. It was further gathered that the kidnappers left with their captors in a vehicle while other members of the kidnapping gang trailed the car on motorcycle.
