Hit-and-run driver kills man in Lagos
A tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening when an unidentified adult male was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Onipanu Bus Stop, Fadeyi, along Funsho-Williams Avenue, Lagos.
According to reports, the incident happened around 8:15 pm, and despite efforts to save his life, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed that the victim died while receiving urgent medical treatment at the Trauma Centre in Gbagada.
Oke-Osanyitolu stated that upon arriving at the scene, the LASEMA Response Team found that an adult male had been hit by a vehicle with an unknown registration number, and the driver had fled the scene.
The victim sustained head injuries and received urgent medical attention from LASEMA’s Paramedics before being transported to the Trauma Centre for further treatment. Unfortunately, he died shortly after.
The LASEMA team bagged the victim’s belongings and handed them over to the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) office at Bolade Bus Stop for further action.”
