Install CCTV in public places, schools – Akeredolu orders Ondo residents
Doris Israel Reports
In wake of the rising insecurity, the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has ordered the installation of Circuit Television (CCTV) devices in public places and institutions in the state.
The order is coming on the heels of the massacre that happened in St Francis Catholic Church, Owo on Sunday, June 5.
In a statement signed on Saturday by the Akeredolu’s spokesperson, Richard Olatunde, the governor said the order shall be enforced at all religious places of worship, financial institutions (of all kinds), event centres, supermarkets, Hotels/Motels, Guest House inns, Restaurants, Clinics and Health Centres, eateries amongst others.
“This becomes imperative in the light of the increased spate of insecurity in the country and the need to ensure security of lives and properties in all public and private institutions and centres throughout the state,” the statement said.
