JUST IN: APC loses another party chieftain [PHOTOS]

A stalwart of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Mrs. Modupe Awodogan, popularly known as “Iya Oniyan,” is dead.

TrackNews learned that Iya Oniyan, who is one of the most respected women Leader of the Lagos State chapter of the APC, died in the early hours on Tuesday, after a brief illness.

The deceased was among the three who leads the women’s wing of the integral support for the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Others are Alhaja Agaba and Mama Kalokalo.

Late Iya Oniyan was a former Woman Leader of the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD). She was a popular member of the APC in Mushin Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State.

Also on Tuesday, a seating House of Assembly member (Mushin II State Constituency), Sobur Olawale, commonly called ‘Omititi’, slumped and died after the APC rally in Jos, Plateau State.

The spokesman for the APC in Lagos State, Seye Oladejo, in his reaction to the development, described the lawmaker’s death as a tragic loss.
