JUST IN: Court Sacks PDP Chairman in Taraba State, Restores Bakari
The Taraba State High Court has ordered the immediate reinstatement of Alhaji Inuwa Bakari as the acting chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
TrackNews Media reports that Justice Nuhu Adi, who delivered the judgement, said Bakari’s removal by the former governor of the state, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku was unconstitutional.
The State’s Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Abubakar Bawa was therefore sacked from office.
The judge also ordered Bawa to desist from parading himself as the party’s chairman.
Bakari has promised to resume office as directed by the court.
He has also urged the party’s faithful to remain calm and eschew acts capable of igniting crisis.
The judgement comes a few days after the state government set up a committee to resolve the leadership tussle in the party.
