Kogi: Police arrests a father in connection with the death of his daughter.

A father has been arrested in Kogi State on suspicion of kidnapping and killing his 15-year-old daughter.
SP William Ovye-Aya, the state police spokesman, confirmed the incident to the Tracknews Nigeria on Friday in Lokoja, adding that a friend of the girl’s father was also arrested.
He stated that one more suspect has been declared wanted.
According to a police spokesman, the suspects are employees of the Federal Polytechnic Idah.
“Miss Sherrifah was reportedly kidnapped on Aug. 4, at the family residence in Okenya along Itayi Street, Igalamela/Odolu Local Government area of Kogi,” according to reports.
“The girl’s remains were discovered only a few days later, already mutilated and with some parts missing,” he explained.
Ovye-Aya stated that an investigation had begun, including efforts to apprehend the third suspect, Adah.
“The State Commissioner of Police (CP), Edward Egbuka, has ordered a thorough investigation into the case and the manhunt for Adah, who is currently at large.” The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department in Lokoja in accordance with the CP’s order,” he added.
Ovye-Aya assured that the command would conduct a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death.
