The newly announced Lagos State Resident Identity Card, also known as the LagID Card, would be distributed to registrants in one million copies, according to a statement made by the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency, or LASRAA, yesterday.

LASRRA’s General Manager, Mr. Ibilola Kasumu, bemoaned the inhabitants’ nonchalant attitude toward complying with the state government’s instruction on the need to get registered for a variety of purposes while providing an update on the recently relaunched LagID cards.

The card, he explained, serves as a way to identify you as a legitimate resident of Lagos state by providing you with a special identification number. We therefore require the card for convenience and security when using government services.
