MAFAB is given a five-month extension by the NCC to put out 5G.

The Nigerian Communications Commission has granted Mafab Communications, one of the two telecommunications companies that acquired 5G spectrum licenses in December 2021, a five-month extension for its rollout (NCC).

According to the terms of the 5G license, the licensees were anticipated to start rolling out 5G services on August 24, 2022.

However, due to the delays in acquiring its unified operational licence (USAL) and Numbering Plan, which were not received until the end of July, Mafab has been given a five-month extension.

“We are totally committed to bringing the advantages of 5G services to Nigerians and building a network that will boost internet availability nationally and promote economic growth. I have no doubt that the service will contribute to advancements in the commercial, entertainment, smart cities, and education sectors.

The Chairman of Mafab Communications Limited, Dr. Mushabu Bashir, stated in a news release published by the 5G licensee, “The goal remains to launch before the five-month extension term and we will be providing additional details in the near future.

Higher data speeds, better availability, and enhanced dependability will all be provided to Nigerians via 5G.
The service will help Nigerians use broadband more effectively and would boost the country’s broadband penetration, service quality, and capabilities.

The NCC has granted Mafab Communications Limited a license to offer and run Local Interconnect and International carrier services since it was founded on July 8, 2020.
