MR. DANIEL IWORISO-MARKSON INAUGURATES CAMPAIGN TEAM FOR SAVE MOTHERHOOD INITIATIVE.

Commissioner for information and Orientation Daniel Iworiso-Markson has inaugurated the committee members of the safe motherhood initiative to put flesh to the program geared towards sensitising pregnant women in Bayelsa State in their fight against child and infant motarlity
Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson who inaugurated Mr. Chris Odi as Chairman of the Committee also charged members to immediately go into every community that make up the 105 political ward in the state to sensitise pregnant women on safe motherhood.
he commissioner who said members of the committee will partake on a two days training program by health officers will also educate women on safe motherhood,Prenatal care (care during pregnancy) and counseling with focus on high risk pregnancies,promotion of maternal nutrition,adequate delivery assistance in all cases and others.
Earlier, the Gov. Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa, said that the state government was paying N3, 000 to every pregnant woman who registered for ante-natal care in the government recognised hospitals.
Dickson, however, announced the approval of N2.5 billion to the state Ministry of Health to take care of the needs of the pregnant women.
