I’m Doing My Best To Curb Insecurity, Says Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his administration is addressing the security challenges facing the country and will continue to do its best.
Buhari made this known when he received Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and a delegation of the Tijjaniya movement led by the Grand Khalifah, Tidjani Ali Bin Arabi, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday.
The Nigerian leader disclosed that he is confident that the nation will overcome the prevailing situation of insecurity before the expiration of his tenure.
He said: “We have done our best and we will continue to do more by pursuing coherent and consistent policies to deal with terrorism. I hope God will listen to our prayers.”
Buhari urged Nigerians to be fair to his government in assessing the security issue in the country by reflecting on what was obtained at the time he took over in 2015, and the successes achieved by his government.
The President stated that the security situation in the Northeast and the South-South has been addressed, adding that the Northwest which had given the nation some “headache” will experience a turnaround for the better.
He also urged citizens to take responsibility and show interest in the affairs of their own security and complement what the government is doing.
Buhari, therefore, applauded Ganduje for inviting the Tijjaniya movement to come to pray for peace and stability of the country.
