Oyetola hails appointment of Sheikh Hadiyatullah as Supreme Council leader
Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has congratulated Sheikh AbdurRashid Hadiyatullah on his appointment as the President, Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, SCSN.
The Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, SCSN on Monday named Sheikh Hadiyatullah as its new President following the demise of Dr Ibrahim Datti Ahmad, the Council’s former President.
Oyetola, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan in Osogbo on Tuesday, described the appointment as a product of commitment and dedication to Islam and his sterling record of service to humanity.
Expressing his belief on the appointment, Oyetola said the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, would be taken to greater levels of responsiveness in the discharge of its constitutional duties.
He noted that the people and Government of the State of Osun were very proud of the appointment of the Iwo born new SCSN President, and optimistic that he would succeed and take the Council to greater heights.
Oyetola wished Sheikh Hadiyatullah a successful stay in his new office.
“As a highly detribalised Nigerian and a friend of all, I charge you to continue in that fashion and consolidate on the tremendous gains recorded by the late Council’s President.
“Osun appreciates you for your service and I urge you to continue to be a great ambassador of the State in this new position,” Oyetola added.
