Tinubu Set To Reorganize Cabinet Says Ministers Not Showcasing Achievement
President Bola Tinubu is about to reorganize his cabinet, indicating that important ministries will soon have new chiefs.
The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed the President’s worries on the lack of communication between ministries and the public on Wednesday during a press briefing at the State House in Abuja.
Onanuga claimed that despite notable advancements in a number of areas, a dearth of media coverage has left many Nigerians in the dark about them.
“Ministers have been told by the President to publish their ministries’ accomplishments and activities more aggressively,” Onanuga stated.
He encouraged ministers to engage with the media and emphasized that the reorganization will help the government better serve Nigerians.
“The President intends to reorganize his cabinet, as he has stated he will do. I’m not sure if he wants to complete it before October 1st, but he will definitely do it. I will say that, but he hasn’t provided us with a timeframe,” Onanuga stated.
“The President has given an order to all his ministers at the last Federal Executive Council meeting to go out there and speak about the activities of his administration,” Onanuga stated, addressing the effectiveness of the current administration.
“He wants them to get over all of that and go out there and speak about what they have been doing. Some of them have been media shy, television shy, and radio shy.
“Because there is a perception that despite government activity, it is not doing enough.” It is incumbent upon them to take the initiative and sound the alarm. They ought to venture forth and discuss the work that their ministries have been doing.
“At the last Federal Executive Council meeting, the President instructed all ministers to actively engage the public about the government’s achievements,” Onanuga said in response to criticism of the administration’s performance.
He stated that while some have been reluctant to interact with the media, he wants them to get over this and successfully convey their work.

Although there is a misconception that the government isn’t doing enough, a lot more has been accomplished. They have an obligation to represent their ministry’ work in the community.
