USAID-IHP equips vendors For Better Service Delivery In Ebonyi State

The United States Agency for International Development- Integrated Health Program USAID-IHP in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria has embarked on a- one capacity building for vendors in order to render a better service delivery in the State.

The USAID-IHP State Director on Finance and Administration, Mr Benson Nwosu disclosed this during the capacity training at Osborn Hotel in Abakaliki the State Capital.

Nwosu said “We were joined today at the USAID Integrated Health Program (IHP) vendor training at the Osborn Hotel Abakaliki. The meeting aimed at strengthening the capacity of vendors to better respond to IHP solicitation notices for Request for Quotations (RFQ) and Request for Proposals (RFP) at different intervals and to develop realistic and cost-effective budgets in line with USAID cost principles”
“Key highlights of the meeting were presentations by the Executive Secretary of the State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Divine Igwe, and Axa Manxard Insurance Plc on the new eligibility criteria for enrolling all staff of organizations with five or more employees in health insurance”. He added.
On his part, the USAID-IHP Operational Manager in the State, Mr Pamene Baridi said the training is to enable their vendors know the rules guiding USAID-IHP procurement processes.
He said the USAID-IHP team will continue to strengthen the capacity of her vendors for improved service delivery in Ebonyi State.

In attendance were over 70 participants, including but not limited to printing, catering, hotels, stationery, suppliers of goods and services, sub-contractors, fueling services, plumbing services, vehicle maintenance, janitors, security services, and healthcare service providers, among others.
