Osun 2022: Why I Left PDP Peace Meeting – Senator Adeleke Opens Up
Adeleke explained that he didn’t leave the meeting out of anger as been speculated in certain quarters neither was his decision to leave based on any form of disagreement with those in attendance.
It would be recalled that www.tracknews.ng earlier reported that Senator Adeleke allegedly stormed out of a peace meeting of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which was convened by former governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, at his Okuku home ahead of the Osun 2022 gubernatorial election.
But narrating what happened, the former lawmaker has explained that he didn’t walk out of the meeting but was forced to leave due to an urgent family issue that needed immediate attention.
He added that he agrees with all the resolutions taken at the meeting towards the reconciliation of all aggrieved stakeholders ahead of the July 16 governorship election in the state.
A statement released by his Campaign Organisation quoted Adeleke as saying: “I commend our leaders for the successful outcomes of the meeting. I associate myself with the resolutions reached.
“PDP is now one big united family in Osun State. I accepted the resolutions reached, though I left afterwards to attend to urgent family matters.
“We urge PDP members to sustain the peace efforts and avoid spreading rumours that may derail the successful conclusion of the ongoing reconciliation moves.”
The six persons cleared to contest the PDP primaries for the Osun governorship election to determine the party’s flagbearer are Alhaji Fatai Akinbade; Dr Akin Ogunbiyi; Sen. Ademola Adeleke; Mr Sanya Omirin; Mr Dele Adeleke and Mr Dotun Babayemi.
