President Tinubu find Adamu’s Replacement, Froze APC’s Accounts

After the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), it appears that President Bola Tinubu is actively searching for his successor.

Sources that spoke on the development with TRACKNEWS revealed that the president and his team began seeking a suitable replacement for Adamu soon after Tinubu’s election in February this year.

While Tinubu initially adopted a wait-and-see approach after his inauguration, other APC chieftains reportedly urged Chief Bisi Akande, former governor of Osun State and ex-Interim National Chairman of the party, to obtain presidential approval for Adamu’s immediate removal.

Amid these leadership changes, all bank accounts of the ruling party have been frozen.

This directive, reportedly from the “Presidency,” came just days before Adamu’s departure.

The resulting financial freeze has impacted the payment of advertising debts to several media houses.

Following Adamu’s resignation, sources within the party indicate that the president has a potential replacement in mind.

However, he is currently discussing with key stakeholders to ensure the choice is universally acceptable.

One top party official stated, “Honestly if you ask me, I do not know who the person is. You are the one asking me about (James) Faleke and (Tanko) Almakura now. Some are even saying Silas Agara, a former deputy governor of Nasarawa state, but the president is keeping things to his chest and his inner circle, and that is not unexpected. I do not know the people being touted as replacements but I know the president is talking with his inner caucus”

Another anonymous party official suggested that Tanko Almakura and Simon Lalong, the immediate-past Governor of Plateau State, could be top contenders for the vacant position.
