The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational Associated Institutions (NASU), and the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) have announced the end of their ongoing seven-day and three-day warning strike by midnight on Sunday.

The JAC of SSANU and NASU had been on strike for about a month, demanding inclusion in the payment of withheld salaries. The salaries were withheld when the previous administration invoked a ‘No Work, No Pay’ policy against ASUU, SSANU, and NAATS, who had embarked on strikes lasting eight months, four months, and five-and-a-half months respectively in 2022.

Speaking during a Zoom meeting with journalists on Sunday, the National President of the JAC of SSANU and NASU, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, explained that all unions would resume work on Monday.

However, he expressed dismay that the government had yet to respond to their demands.

Ibrahim stated that the FG had not paid the non-teaching staff and that the JAC would meet with the National Executive Council to decide the next course of action.
