According to a source, Atiku and Wike were scheduled to meet this week to resolve their disagreements and discuss the makeup of the presidential campaign team.

The source added that the camps of Atiku and Wike were anticipated to harmonize their positions within the time frame and bring them to their principals for approval prior to submission to the National Caucus and then to NEC.

Additionally, it was learned that the PDP governors disagree over who of them should lead the campaign committee, particularly in light of the presidential nomination convention on May 28.

Because of the part he played in supporting Atiku during the presidential convention, the camp of the governor of Rivers State is not pleased that Aminu Waziri Tambawal, chairman of the PDP governors’ forum, will be in charge of the campaign.

The governor of Rivers state reportedly objected to Tambawul leading the presidential campaign council at the previous meeting between Atiku and Wike. It was discovered that the PDP governors were in favor of having Senator Bukola Saraki, the former president of the Senate, serve as the campaign council’s chairman.

The PDP governors are pressuring Saraki to accept the offer despite the fact that he has not yet indicated that he will lead the campaign council despite having the greatest expertise.
