Troops repel attack, neutralize bandits, recover arms in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Government on Sunday, confirmed that troops of the Nigerian Army repelled dozens of bandits, neutralized one of the bandits, while several escaped with bullet wounds.
Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, while confirming this in a statement on Sunday, said the bandits tried to invade Kankomi, in Chikun Local Government area of the state, but the vigilant troops engaged them in fierce battle and subsequently neutralized one.
According to him, the troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, seven AK-47 magazines, seven rounds of ammunition and five locally-made grenades from the bandits.
He added that as the troops were exploring the area, three corpses of locals were discovered
