The British government has issued a new warning about the possibility of a terrorist attack in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
According to Track News, the development follows a similar warning issued by the United States of America about an increased threat of a terrorist attack in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The United Kingdom advised its citizens in Nigeria to remain vigilant and to plan their movements carefully in an advisory issued on Sunday by its Embassy in Abuja.

The British government also urged its citizens to pay attention to local news and security officials’ advice in order to avoid becoming victims of a terrorist attack.

It also advised its citizens not to visit markets, shopping malls, hotels, bars, restaurants, football viewing centers, displacement camps, transportation terminals, government buildings, or schools.

Following the UK Embassy’s advisory, the British High Commission in Abuja has restricted access to its building.

In a notice issued on Sunday, the Commission stated that only critical staff will be permitted access to its facility on Monday, October 24.
