University of Africa Toru-orua Graduates Committee Inaugurates Caretaker Committee for Alumni Association
Toru-orua, -The graduates of the University of Africa Toru-orua (UAT) are thrilled to announce the successful inauguration of the interim 7-man Caretaker committee for the alumni association. The inauguration ceremony took place on Sunday, 4th of February 2024, following the first meeting held on the 28th of January 2024.
This marks the beginning of the establishment process for an Alumni Association aimed at fostering networking, career development, fundraising, student support, community building, advocacy, and the overall development of the University.
The meeting witnessed an excellent turnout with a total of 396 graduates attending from various graduating classes, showcasing their commitment and enthusiasm towards the growth and development of our beloved alma mater.
The newly inaugurated members of the Caretaker Committee are as follows:
- Chiefson Ebikabo-owei (Class 2021) – Chairman
- Happiness Marine (Class 2022) – Vice Chairperson
- Azikiwe Godknows (Class 2021) – Secretary
- Ozini Franca (Class 2021) – Treasurer
- James Jacob (Class 2022) – Spokesman
- Demeoru Joshua (Class 2023) – Membership Coordinator.
- Awipi Pius (Class 2023) – Events Coordinator
The committee was put together by nominating members from the existing three classes of graduates, namely Class of 2021, 2022, and 2023. Their responsibilities include working closely with the university to establish a strong foundation for the alumni association, developing a framework, defining the purpose, objectives, and aims of the association, drafting a constitution and other relevant structures, organizing an election to appoint a substantive executive council and other essential organizational bodies, and creating a comprehensive database of all graduates.
We encourage all graduates of the University of Africa Toru-orua to actively engage in the activities and programs of the alumni association, as it promises to be an exceptional platform for networking, career development, and overall enhancement of our esteemed University.
