Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-Edo State Governor, has vowed not to be a legislator who distributes grinding stones to widows.
Oshiomhole, who is running for senator from Edo North, made the announcement on Friday at the inauguration of his campaign council in Auchi.

He also expressed concerns about how the national assembly handles budgets, emphasizing that he will spearhead the change in the national assembly’s budgetary system.

“I am troubled by the way we manage our budget at the national assembly,” Oshiomhole said. I want to go there and argue on the assembly floor that we need to change our budgetary system. Our budget must serve the needs of the people.

“I want to be a senator — not a senator who buys motorcycles or Keke NAPEPs for ten out of ten thousand youths.”

“I don’t need to be a senator to help widows and young people.” That is something I have done and continue to do. Today, I am paying school fees for students who cannot afford to attend.”

Regarding Tinubu’s Presidency
Speaking about his party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, Oshiomhole stated that the former Lagos State governor is the most qualified candidate for the presidency.

“They are throwing stones at him because they have seen that they cannot dispute his performance,” he explained.

“They claimed he didn’t go to school, but they also claimed he was the treasurer of Mobil Oil Company.” Will an oil company hire someone who did not attend school as chief accountant or treasurer?

“You’ve seen how Tinubu changed Lagos. When he sees a young person who is performing well, he mentors and grooms him to become a leader.”
